THE SACRAMENTO POLICE OFFICER UNION MAKES ENDORSEMENT FOR MAYOR

The Sacramento police officer union on Tuesday endorsed Steve Hansen for mayor. The Sacramento Police Officers Association endorsement, which typically comes with a $6,000 campaign donation, further cements Hansen’s desire to brand himself as the public safety candidate.

FORMER SACRAMENTO CITY COUNCILMEMBER STEVE HANSEN ENTERS MAYORAL RACE

More than a decade after he ran for Sacramento City Council, Steve Hansen has joined the growing field of candidates looking to win the mayor's seat next year.

Since losing a reelection bid in 2020, Hansen has focused on his family and his role as managing partner of the Sacramento office of Lighthouse Public Affairs LLC. He said he's reminded of what he ran on in 2012, just as the city was emerging from the Great Recession.
