What do the signs say?
All the signs literally point to success for our campaign to give Sacramento a brighter future. Indeed, we put up 500 lawn signs last weekend! We also have more great endorsements to report from United Public Employees, HonorPAC, and the Sacramento Rainbow Chamber of Commerce PAC. Most importantly, I have had the chance to share our vision of a modern, innovative, inclusive Sacramento at neighborhood candidate forums, at thousands of front doors, and through many phone calls.
Thanks to your help, we’ve built a campaign to go the distance through June 5 to November and beyond. Can you do more to help? There are three ways to make a difference below.
Our support continues to grow, because voters are not only ready for a change, they want real change. My focus on jobs, stabilizing the city budget, and ensuring our kids have safe neighborhoods with open parks & pools has resonated broadly. We must diversify the city’s economy beyond the construction industry and beyond government to embrace the knowledge-based economy of high tech, green tech, and biotech. We must also work seriously to promote our arts economy and tackle difficult problems, like hunger and homelessness.
With seven candidates in the race, everything we do from now until the election on June 5 makes a great difference. Here are three ways you can help:
1) Volunteer to walk, call, stuff envelopes or spread the word. We need you at least one Saturday or Sunday between now and June 5. Email: email@example.com to sign up for a date.
2) Attend a candidate forum to show your support. Two very important candidate forums coming up are: the Central City Forum at the Cosmo Cabaret on Monday, April 30 from 5-8pm; or the League of Women Voters Fourm on Saturday, May 12 at 10:30am in the Sacramento County Board of Supvervisors Chambers, which will also be televised.
3) Donate to ensure that we can get our message out to voters in time. We still need to raise $30,000 to run the campaign to June 5, and your $25, $50, or $100 will make all the difference. Please give today, if you are able to help.
On to victory!
